Hole in the wall spot with classic childhood burgers. The Big Dan with all the toppings was flavorful and fresh (you can see through the glass wall to see it being made), but my favorite were the home fries. My gosh, so crispy and delicious! Haven't had yummy potato wedges in such a long time. Have heard the chili and chicken & waffles is pretty good, so I'll be back another time!

I mainly love the fact that they serve burgers first thing in the morning lol. Working night shift means the morning time is my dinner and sometimes all I want is a burger.

Super Yummy!!! Best burger in town! Seasoned french fries! Food was super hot and fresh. The only issue I had was they would not put ketchup on my burger (packets only), and it is take out only (nowhere to sit down). But, if that is the worst part, the awesome food makes ip for it!!! See you again soon!

We were at the fairgrounds for an event and I yelped burger places close to me. Man was I glad it was a day they were open. This little hole in the wall is serving up some of the best burgers I've had in Indy. They're pretty quick on the burgers and fries. Chicken and waffles is like a 25 minute wait. We'll try that some other time. There's no seats so it's all grab and go but man it's worth it. Don't try and eat them and drive they're deliciously messy so find a place to park and enjoy!

HOLY H#LL is all I can say. Stopped in last week for a burger and OMG it was amazing. Fresh patties nice thickness, loaded with toppings. I was expecting to see a ton of grease when I got to the car but it wasn't. This was a hamburger from my childhood.

So I asked my grandsons if they ever had Mr Dan's, and they said No! We were in the neighborhood, so I had to swoop in and let them experience Naptowns iconic burger. Now, this isn't one of the originals, and it is not on Keystone anymore. It moved to 46th and Allisonville rd. ( The last original is on Massachusetts and Pendleton Pike.) Anyway, the boys got triple burgers, and we got singles with a side of chili fries. Everything is made fresh to order right in front of you. The staff was friendly. The place was an old garage which was converted. It's apparently only 4 months old, so it's very clean, but the bathroom already had a sign on it that said it didn't work. This is not a restaurant, so there are no tables and chairs, just 3 benches to sit on while you wait. Now I only have to get up the nerve to go back and get an open face Dan like I used to when I was 35 years younger :) Don't remember if they always had breakfast, but they do now. If you are ready to ditch the salad and tofu and have a "cheat day," come on down to Mr. Dan's and do it right!

I have to admit that I was completely surprised when I saw that this former liquor store at 46th and Allisonville Road was becoming a Mr. Dan's. Newer residents are likely less familiar with this Indianapolis sub-culture icon. I can remember regularly going to Mr. Dan's as a child whenever my parents would take me to an Indianapolis Indians game at their former home of Bush Stadium. At one point, it seemed as if Mr. Dan's would become a true chain establishment - if only regionally. However, for a multitude of reasons that never happened. Yet, surprisingly, Mr. Dan's has continued to be around for the past 60 years in some form or fashion. As noted, this location is very new. The decor is simple and it appears the emphasis is on pick-up, carry-out, delivery, and/or catering. I would note there's the obvious addition of a patio area that did not exist when this was a liquor store - so, perhaps, they are aiming for outdoor seating at some point. The other emphasis here is on simple comfort foods including burgers, hot dogs, wings, a breakfast menu (including the famous Big Hoss), and a few other items. They serve Pepsi products. I ordered Mr. Dan's via delivery and ordered a a Big Dan (you can also get this doubled or tripled), an order of fries, and a Diet Pepsi. I did not see iced tea on the delivery menu, though the website does indicate sweet tea. The order itself was a little later than expected. In fact, the driver changed. However, everything was fine at delivery and my order was 100% correct. The burger was decent sized - think quarter pounder but possibly bigger. It came with cheese and the usual lettuce/tomato toppings that were actually set on the side. The fries were a decent-sized order, though fairly mid-range in terms of quality. I liked them but wouldn't rave about them. The Diet Pepsi was just fine, though I don't drink a lot of soft drinks these days. I would definitely prefer the sweet tea option. I can't speak to customer service other than experiencing the order being a few minutes late - my sense was the order wasn't ready when the first driver arrived. Pricing was surprisingly affordable and this was definitely on the lower end of my delivery pricing experiences since I've been recovering from surgery at home. I would easily order it again - in fact, it's very close to my home and I look forward to returning once I'm released to drive. This is a welcome addition to the neighborhood and sure brings back the nostalgia. According to their website, which I've added to Yelp, there's also a location in Anderson. I'd love to see a Mr. Dan's resurgence - while I'm not quite ready to call this a 5-star experience, it's a solid 4-star experience with a healthy dose of nostalgia.

Oh GOODNESSSSSSS!!! Service is so on point! Employees are so kind and pretty quick. It's a very chill place, there is no seating to dine in. HOWEVER, this is such a good small local business. The fries are perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside and soft on delicious on the inside. The chili needed a little salt, but wooowww!!! It blew me away!! I 100% can't wait to come back and try more on the menu!!
